The U15Bs produced a solid team performance in the 5th v 6th placed final league game of the season. OAs started strongly but conceded the first try after some trundling forward play from Luton that would be a consistent them throughout the match.
OAs were the more creative of the two teams, working through the phases to suck in the opposition before moving the ball wide to set the backs free to run in several well worked tries.
On occasion, we were guilty of indiscipline or turning the ball over when well placed in the opposition 22, but the forwards worked hard in the breakdown and OAs, having worked out the Luton patterns of play, profited from some great continuity and a desire to move the ball across the pitch.
Late in the second half, OAs started to tire and offered Luton some hope of getting back in to the fixture as they continued to challenge the OA defence with more forward rumbles.
In the end, OAs held firm to finish 5th out of 8 in the league. The teams finishing above us did so thanks to some marginal victories over OAs. The boys should feel very proud of their efforts today and the manner in which they have improved over the season. Well done!
