Canterbury ran out very deserved winners against OA who still find winning at Woollams a problem. Canterbury got off to a fast start moved the ball through several phases for Frank Reynolds to score in the left corner he then converted his own try. OA hit back with a try for Alex Noot following a break from left wing Alex Ricci who timed an inside pass to perfection. The conversion was missed. However Reynolds was on target with a penalty. Canterbury then really came to life. They scored a fine try with a kick through from Kurt Heatherley to Jones who kicked on twice to drop on the ball and score. They started running the ball from all parts of the pitch. This led to fine try from O’Donoghue. Two further Heatherley penalties made it 5-30 at half time. Canterbury continue to dominate and Tom Williams scored shortly after half time. Heatherley again converting.OA then had their best period with tries for Charlie Fleckney from an effective rolling maul and wing Alex Ricci. This however was a close as OA got with Canterbury continuing their free running. Helped by a few OA mistakes and crucial missed tackles the visitors scored further tries through Frank Morgan, Heatherley and Gary Jones to go past 50 points. Canterbury will be pleased with their afternoon. OA will look to come back stronger with some difficult fixtures in the next fortnight.
