The proceeds from this unique piece of memorabilia will support The Brain Tumor Charity, specifically aiding the fundraising efforts of one of our dedicated U16’s coaches, Robert Collins.
This cause holds profound significance for Robert and his family, as they navigate the heart-wrenching loss of their beloved son, Rafi, who passed away on June 26, 2023, just after celebrating his 11th birthday. Rafi’s journey began at the age of three when he bravely battled a medulloblastoma. Although he triumphed over this challenge with the help of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the family received devastating news in August 2022: Rafi had developed a second tumor, a glioma, likely a consequence of his earlier treatment.
Rafi was a bright light in the lives of those around him, described by a friend as “like the sun shooting rays of sunshine at everybody.” His warmth, humor, and indomitable spirit continue to inspire his family as they strive to honor his memory. By participating in this auction, you can help support research and provide assistance to other children and families facing similar battles with brain tumors, a leading cause of childhood mortality.
