Old Albanian Saints 2XV kicked off their Championship 2 Midlands season in style, running in nine tries to claim a commanding 0–51 away victory against Peterborough, welcoming their hosts to the third tier of Womens' rugby.
The scoreboard reflected Saints’ balance across the park, with eight different players crossing the whitewash. Senior debutant Erin Delea set the tone with a powerful carry for the opening score, followed by further efforts from Scarlett Cooper-Wall, Ember Coulam, Katie Logan, Ellie Wilson, and Siobhan Drummond. Fullback Talia Morton-Kemsley added a brace, while fellow debutant Maisie Herbert rounded things off. Fly-half Emily Eves added three conversions.
It was a day of firsts, with senior debuts for Delea, Herbert, and Megan Cawte-Davey, as well as Saints debuts for Cooper-Wall and centre Phillippa Grant. Delea was named Forward of the Match for her relentless work rate and carrying, while Morton-Kemsley took Back of the Match honours after a confident display and two well-taken tries.
The performance showcased the depth of the Saints’ pathway, with experienced players and debutants combining to deliver an assured opening-day win. Strong defensive organisation kept Peterborough scoreless in their Championship 2 debut, while Saints’ attack showed both pace and precision across the field.
