The U9s had their wettest challenge of the season so far on Sunday 16th October, when two teams took part in the Beaconsfield Festival.
It was a very soggy start to the morning but coach Steve reminded the boys that this meant the ground would be nice and soft for all their big tackles!
It was tough going throughout, with both the A and B team pushed very hard in 5 games each, against strong teams including hosts Beaconsfield; Maidenhead; Windsor, and Ealing. Nevertheless it was great to see some impressive defensive work; fast running; and both teams managed to score a number of tries.
The scorelines may not always have been in our favour, but the boys still had a fantastic morning and came away with the experience of another festival and lots of valuable learnings to put to the test next week in training.
Thanks to our hosts Beaconsfield for an enjoyable and well-organised event.
