If you still thought rugby was just a sport for men, think again. Participation in women’s rugby has doubled in the past 10 years and, of course, England Womens Rugby Union Team are the current world champions.
Here at Old Albanians RFC based in St Albans, the OA Saints Ladies Squad are keen to attract even more women to the game, so in partnership with England Rugby we will be holding a FREE “Pitch up and Play” session on Sunday 13th March from 1pm till 3 pm with food available afterwards. We also encourage you to stay and watch the Scotland v France Six Nations Match in the clubhouse which kicks off from 3pm.

We plan to introduce the rugby basics to you including skills, fitness techniques and elements of match play in a interactive, fun and chilled environment.
There be will fun games and maybe even a bit of tackling to have a go at. It doesn’t matter if you have never even touched a rugby a ball, prefer watching Eastenders on the sofa or are a returning player to the sport! We will shape the session to your experiences and preferences.
The session lasts for around 2 hours and we’ll be putting on drinks and food afterwards so you can meet other participants and members of the OA Saints. We also have changing rooms also available if you want to have a shower and freshen up afterwards before joining us in the bar.
What do I need to bring?
Wear comfortable clothes you happy exercising in and a waterproof as English weather in March is unpredictable. We will do our very best to provide sunshine!
Pair of trainers and a water bottle.
How much does it cost?
FREE – Just turn up!
Can I bring a friend?
You can bring as many friends as you like or come alone. You will meet so many people on the day and make new friends so don’t panic is cannot bring a buddy!
