In mid-June what started out as being a few members of the Men’s 1st XV having a bit of friendly competition snowballed into 179 players, ex-players, coaches and members taking part in our first Calorie Challenge.
The premise is simple, any calories burned through exercise in a 24-hour window are added together with those of your team mates to compete against other teams.
Over 300,000 calories were burnt in a single day across all those taking part in everything from running, to kayaking, to bike rides, weight sessions and more.
We’re now back to do it all again…
On the 11th July, a number of teams from OAs will compete against those from other clubs in support of 3 very worthy charities; NHS Charities Together COVID Appeal, Show Racism the Red Card and the RFU’s Injured Players Foundation.
If you, your team or club would like to get involved, please visit www.caloriechallenge.org for more information
