OAs U13 had a a big night on Saturday evening at the Sarries 1st Heineken Cup home game of the season v Lyon . A big group of u13s and their families went to this exciting win and ran out on the famous 4g surface to wave the big Sarries top as the sides ran out and then to play on the pitch themselves at half time.
The Oas u13s were able run out 2 teams at half time in the big game. Team Brunt took on local rivals OV’s at the Wolfpack end and Team Pope faced Biggleswade at the Red Bus end.
Both Oas sides played some great running rugby under lights and in front of a sell out crowd of 10,000 or so fans and both ran out winners in their respective games – 3-1 v OVs and 2-0 v Biggleswade.
Steve Pope for the U13 age group said “ It was great for our lads to be on the pitch for this big game and to be part of proceedings. This was a first professional game of rugby for a number of our players and their families and these Sarries events are a great way to inspire the next generation of young players , as well as having good time together as an age group.”
There were lots of other young OAs involved in the Saracens game as well and its good to see other age groups getting the same opportunities to be involved in the highest level of club rugby
