Good performance from the Under 9’s at the Amersham and Chiltern Dev Festival

We arrived in Buckinghamshire on an overcast day for the Amersham and Chiltern dev festival. We started slowly against a very strong side from Beaconsfield the game ended in defeat but a spirited performance from the boys.

The second game was a further improvement and we ran out narrow victors over Marlow, this unfortunately was followed by a defeat by a very strong side from Henley. We ended the festival on a high with a positive win over Amersham

Generally the boys got better throughout the day with some moments of brilliance, which including a one handed offload out of the tackle from Tom Newns to put Conor away for a try. In the last game we managed to turn the ball over a number of times by making 7 tackles. A Special mention for Josh (the limpet) Barton for his phenomenal tackle count who sometimes made 5 tackles during the same defence and was therefore instrumental in us winning turnover ball. Some great contributions too from Conor, Alex and Harry for their straight running allowing us to pull in the opposition defence before moving the ball out wide.
