For the fifth successive year the 1st XV compete in one of the countries most competitive leagues; London One. Turnover in this league is high as three teams are relegated and two promoted every season. The Old Albanians are one of only three teams to survive in this league for 4 consecutive seasons.

In 2007 the OA’s finished safely in eighth place, only 2 points from fifth place. The highlight of the season was the defeat of Ealing at home in the last fixture before Christmas, other key performances include another gritty win over Barnes away. The end of the season saw London Scottish promoted for winning the league whilst Ealing beat Cleve in the play-off to win the final promotion spot.

This year County dominance will be decided with the division including local rivals Hertford (relegated from National 3 South) and Bishops Stortford. Richmond, Worthing, Shelford, Portsmouth and Barnes also remain from the 06/07 season while Thanet Wanderers, Civil Service and Sutton & Epsom replace Guildford, Staines and Heywards Heath and Basingstoke also join the division from South West One.

The 1st XV also compete in the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup and the Hertfordshire President’s Cup. The intermediate cup runs up to level 5, which places OA’s as one of the highest ranked team in the competition. In 2005 OAs had their best run, being knocked out in the last eight.
