Men's
Running at least six senior teams each week, with one of the largest mini and junior sections in the country, and a thriving social membership, all enjoying the finest of facilities both on and off the pitch, things have never been better for the Old Albanian Rugby Football Club (OA Rugby).
The men’s first XV are enjoying their sixth consecutive season in the prestigious, and hugely competitive Powergen London One. Only one other team in the league has maintained a similar uninterrupted presence over this period.
Our coaching team is led by Bruce Millar, ex Saracens chief, with Mark Langley, Dave Whyman and also player-coaches Richard Gregg and Barbarian Gregg Botterman.
We are an open club and would be delighted to see new players or if just interested in watching a good standard of local Rugby then please come down.
Women's
OA Saints – the women’s section of OA Rugby – has made a significant impression on the club since its creation in 2002.
The original squad were an established women’s side who were invited to join OA from St Albans RFC when the OA Rugby moved to their new Woollams ground. Hence the name ‘Saints’ which the OA's women’s section bear with nostalgic pride.
Since 2002, the membership has leaped from 25 to well over 50 registered players aged 17 to 37 (maybe older!) along with a committed body of supporters. We run two XVs squads, and managed to set up a junior squad for 12-17 year-olds at the start of the 2006-07 season.
High standards of rugby on the pitch are matched off the pitch with a very active and energetic social calendar. OA Saints have succeeded where many clubs fail in balancing serious rugby for any level of player with a serious social life! Be it race nights, Hawaiian evenings, slave auctions, or indeed any opportunity for fancy dress, OA Saints are usually there en masse to support and fundraise for the club.
OA Saints are always looking for new players of any age, size or experience - from complete novice to would-be international - to join our fantastic club. We are home to players from Greater London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. Our committed squad of players travel far and wide to be part of the OA Saints family!
