Man of the match:
Hertford kicked off and kept OAs pinned back in their own half for much of the opening period. They almost opened their account too – but some confusion meant they put the ball down in the wrong place. Phew!
Slowly OAs warmed up and began to figure Hertford out. There was a nice little loop pass between Harry Pope and Joshua Addo and OAs slowly fought back. Still, Hertford edged the first half and if it wasn’t for a try saving tackle from Milo Watson OAs would have been going into the break the losing side. Perhaps Hertford had a wind advantage at their backs?
OAs started the second half strongly with lots of speed and momentum- maybe there was a slight wind advantage after all.
TRY! Milo Watson, with great acceleration. Harry Pope also put in a great run, gliding past folk as if they weren’t there- but didn’t quite make it to the line. Then, suddenly, all of Herford’s work paid off and they managed to pull one back – they weren’t going to give up without a fight.
Neither were OAs…
TRY! A great run by Henry Sandwell knocking the Hertford boys out of the way- sheer will and determination. It was great to watch.
TRY! The icing on the cake. Milo Watson made sure OAs got the win.
Good work OAs!
