OA Colts continue good form in November

OA Colts continued their successful start to the season with two important wins in November which saw them through to the last 32 of the National Cup and also sitting on top of the Herts Middlesex u18 Division One.

On 15th November, a much vaunted Bishops Stortford side came to OAs for what many people felt would be the match that decided the Herts Middlesex Division One title and were soundly beaten 27-7. Despite the very difficult playing conditions, OAs continued with their free-flowing style of attacking rugby and scored five tries before Stortford managed a consolation score of their own towards the end. The OA tries were scored John Saunders (x2), Cristy Jennings (x2) and Tom Johnson, with Will Sherwood adding one conversion.

The following week, OAs progressed to the 4th round (last 32) of the National Colts Cup when they beat a spirited Tring side 28-12.

Once again, the conditions were not conducive to running rugby, but OAs stuck to their principles and ran in 4 tries through James Gallagher, John Saunders, Matt Burman & Luke Atkinson-Coyle, all of which were converted by Will Sherwood. OAs continued to play expansive rugby despite the conditions and a mistake-ridden second half saw Tring respond with two tries of their own.

OAs now progress to the 5th round which will take place on Sunday 31st January and eagerly await the outcome of the draw.
